Despite having a nagging thought in the back of my mind telling me that I shouldn't travel during the holidays this year, I couldn't help it. After training with my teammates in Craftsbury, Vt for 4.5 weeks, without any "outside world" interaction and skiing on a 0.5-2k loop, my mind needed a break. I was missing home. So I packed up my hand sanitizer, masked up and made the trip back to the Midwest to spend time with my family. While I was home, I spent most of my time skiing with family, taking naps by the fire or cooking up a storm in the kitchen with my mom and sister. I limited my interactions with friends and only saw them on the ski trails, but it was so nice to see the midwest ski community excited about fresh snow! Christmas was spent at our family cabin in Hayward, WI. |
