"Skiing with Family"

Despite having a nagging thought in the back of my mind telling me that I shouldn't travel during the holidays this year, I couldn't help it. After training with my teammates in Craftsbury, Vt for 4.5 weeks, without any "outside world" interaction and skiing on a 0.5-2k loop, my mind needed a break. I was missing home. So I packed up my hand sanitizer, masked up and made the trip back to the Midwest to spend time with my family. While I was home, I spent most of my time skiing with family, taking naps by the fire or cooking up a storm in the kitchen with my mom and sister. I limited my interactions with friends and only saw them on the ski trails, but it was so nice to see the midwest ski community excited about fresh snow! Christmas was spent at our family cabin in Hayward, WI.

Everytime I am home I wish that my trip could be longer. Alas, duty calls and I flew straight back to Vermont for a week-long quarantine and have just reconveined with my teammates. We still aren't sure what/if racing lies ahead, but we're trying to remain optimistic and will be ready if the opportunity presents itself. In the meantime, more hard workouts, time trials and playing in the snow!
A glamorous New Year's celebration, spent in quarantine with these two furry friends!
