Minneapolis World Cup: Schumacher overall 10km Freestyle

We witnessed a watershed moment in American skiing this past weekend at the Loppet Cup. The event was exceptionally well run on all fronts, and the American skiing community showed up to make it happen. We hope to see more American World Cups soon, and likely a Winter Olympics in Soldier Hollow in the next 10 years.

.

We want to highlight Gus Schumacher in particular, not only for his performance on Sunday, but for all of the work leading up to that moment. We've had the pleasure of working with Gus over the past few years as an equipment supplier. For a while he was on Start poles, and nowadays he trains on Swenor rollerskis, Bliz Eyewear, and an Abilica rollerski treadmill. We're glad to work with him, and hope he keeps killin' it!

.

He is now the third American man to win a World Cup in cross-country. Only the second man to win a distance event, and not since 41 years ago with Bill Koch. He also became the youngest American to ever win a cross-country world cup, on home turf no less.

.

This weekend is the Birkie, where Gus will be taking to the Telemark village to ski 50km. We'll be out there with Annika Landis for the Women's Elite race. See you out there!
