"I Made Some Big Steps Forward and Cracked The Top 30 for the First Time in My Career. " by Casey Larson

Hey Ski Post, Casey Larson here. I know I don’t show my face on here often enough so I thought I would give a small introduction before my update. I am a nordic ski jumper on the USA Nordic National Team. I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago but currently living in Slovenia with my team where I train for whichever competition comes next. In terms of the products I use I prefer the Bliz Volt helmet and my Nova goggles. If you want to follow along with me on a day to day my instagram is @caseylarson and twitter is @casey16larson.

The 2020/21 season got started for me a couple weeks ago in Wisła, Poland where it was a rocky start. It was my first time putting a start bib on since February due to shoulder surgery and the nerves definitely got to me. However, the next week in Ruka, Finland I made some big steps forward and cracked the top 30 for the first time in my career. Ruka is always a tricky hill and I was able to catch some wind and get my personal best 28th in a World Cup competition. Coaches and I decided it best to skip the two World Cups in Russia and focus on Ski Flying World Championships which are starting today, the 10th, and will go through the weekend. This season is full of uncertainties, but I feel like I am in great shape and can’t wait to see what I can do on the hill, even if all you fans have to watch on TV.
