"Get Back Into The Racing Mindset"

Hello everyone!

This past month has been a whirlwind of time-trials, training, time at home with family, and the first real races of the season. At the beginning of December, the BSF Pro team was able to compete in some time-trials out in Sun Valley, Idaho. Although these TTs weren’t “real” races, there was a lot of great competition including athletes from the University of Utah, the Sun Valley Gold Team, Crosscut, and other elite skiers. This weekend was a great opportunity to get in some really hard efforts, test some new skis, and get back into the racing mindset.

After the weekend in Idaho, I headed home to Minnesota to spend some time with my family over Christmas. When I was home, I got to jump into a time trial with my home club at the Birkebeiner trail with my home club (LNR). It was great to do some intensity at sea level, feel fast and snappy again, and race against some skiers that I haven’t seen in a while.

As the new year rolled in, I made my way over to Utah for our first FIS races of the season. The conditions at Solder Hollow were top notch with a fun, rolling skate sprint and a challenging 10k classic course with a lot of climbing. The weekend didn’t end up going how I would have liked- I didn’t feel too great during either race and my results were not where I wanted them to be. Although it was tough to swallow, I did learn a lot from the weekend and know that I will have a lot more to give as the season progresses. For now, I’m putting the races behind me and setting my eyes on the month of competitions ahead. At the moment, I am back in Bozeman training with my team which has been wonderful with all our fresh snow!!
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the season!Happy New Year!!
