Start Oslo is our unique mixture of hardwax raw materials, klister, tar, and molybdenum disufide.  Despite popular belief, this wax DOES NOT contain Fluorocarbons, rather it prevents the accumulation of ice through its use of tar, and protects from dirt through the use of molybdenum disulfide.

This mix has proven to be one of the most popular in the US as it is well suited for artificial snow, old snow, mixed snow, and dirty snow. We reccomend this wax nearly every year for the North American Birkebeiner. This is a versatile wax from the elite wave all the way to the first timers. In racing, Oslo can be paired with a speed cover or used as a basewax in inconsistent conditions.

Application: The key to applying Oslo is many thin layers. To apply, push the tin of wax straight down on the kick zone of ski with light pressure twist quickly and remove. This will leave a small spot of wax on the ski. Repeat until the kick zone has a thin layer of oslo applied. Smooth and warm with a synthetic cork. Apply more layers as necessary.

    Range of use

I purchased the violet for tough conditions during the spring and have added the others. They have a much wider range of use than conventional kick waxes. They have become my go to kick!

This is my go-to for artificial or icy snow.
