MyXC Outreach & Events Coordinator Job Description 8/1/23
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the MyXC Executive Director, this position supports outreach and diversity efforts across our League (62 clubs) as well as providing event management for MyXC events.
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time (averaging 35 hours per week) exempt position with a salary of $43,000 - $46,000, depending on experience. MyXC provides a generous PTO plan, home-office stipend, HSA contribution and SIMPLE IRA Match. Work is primarily remote and flexible with on-site travel, mostly in the Mpls metro area.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Outreach Support
- Identify and follow through on focused outreach opportunities
- Manage scholarship and outreach budget
- Manage MyXC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
- Manage and schedule MyXC outreach equipment trailer
- Coordinate language translations
- Collect and analyze data for internal and external use
- Establish and maintain partnerships with other organizations to further our diversity efforts
- Support fundraising efforts through story-telling, grant research and donor management
- Membership and volunteer assistance via email & phone
- Manage club waitlists, new-skier capacities, refunds, off-line registrations, etc
- Event Coordination
- Manage advertising, registration and volunteers for MyXC events
- Design an outreach focus into all MyXC events
- Events include but are not limited to; MyXC Ski Swap, Nordic Opener, Coach Trainings, Wednesday Family Nights/Team Sprints, Season End Awards, MyXC Festival, Graduation
- Create recruitment plan to diversify volunteers (explore youth internship opportunities)
- Volunteer compliance & background checks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clear commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Excellent spreadsheet and Word skills
- Highly capable at organizing documents, tasks and timelines
- Must have a driver’s license and their own vehicle
- Able to accomplish assignments/tasks with little or no supervision
- Able to manage volunteers (work with people in a team setting)
- Fluent in Spanish, Somali or Hmong
- Love of winter and the outdoors
- Skiing skills are not required, but rather a willingness to learn
- Some weekend and evening availability
