Biography: A 2017 graduate of The University of Denver, Alex Leever is a 3x NCAA Champion, NCAA All American, and American World Cup Skier. After graduating from college, Alex cut his teeth on the NorAm and Europa Cup circuits, earning multiple podiums and lowering his points to where he was one of the top ranked slalom skiers in the country. This past year, after finishing 1st and 3rd at the 2020 US National Championships, Alex was invited to Europe to compete and try to earn a spot on the World Cup circuit. After an 11th place result at the Europa Cup in Val Cenis, FRA, Alex earned his first World Cup start in Flachau, AUT. One week later, Alex finished in 24th place in only his 3rd World Cup race to become the 2nd American Male to score World Cup points in SL in the last 3 years. This result propelled him to being named to the 2021 World Championship Team, where he was one of 21 athletes to compete for the United States. This year, despite his successes, he was not named to the US Ski Team, so he will continue to compete independently on the World Cup circuit. His goals are to score in the World Cup again, and hopefully make the 2022 Olympic Team in Beijing, China. Off the mountain, Alex has earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Quantitative Finance, and wants to work in the financial field post-skiing.
